イギリスの新聞『ガーディアン』の記事によると、鍼治療を受けた女性は体外受精の成功率が65％向上する可能性がある。さらに、国際生殖生物医学雑誌(International Journal of Reproductive Biomedicine)の論文によると、胚移植の25分前に行われた鍼治療は、鍼治療を受けていない女性と比較してIVFを受けている女性のIVF転帰を大幅に増加させたと報告されている。
